extended gadgets: all in one integrated

Gadgets like mobile phones, tv sets and of course computers have grown both in features and flexebility. By flexibility I mean you don’t have to mantain or repair your gadgets. If you have any problems they are mostly due to software issues not hardware.

So is there more to ask? Alright the technology is becoming faster almost every day…but does it bring advantages?

I think what is more important, that we can take our laptops with ourselves, use only features that are important and communicate with others.

Computer manufacturers could integrate the ac/dc adapter, headphones and maybe a scanner in a laptop. The result could be a thicker laptop with more advanced features

The adapter would be next to the battery. You would only have to connect a plug to charge the battery. Besides that it probably wouldn’t be to hard to modify the battery so it can be directly connected to the socket. Currently we are working on a technology to make charging via wireless lan possible.

The headphones could be placed beneath the laptop where the battery is. To guarantee maximum flexibility they need to be headphones for listening to music and a headset to be able to place calls or make dictation. The “conversion” is achieved by cliping in a microphone. Probably some users won’t use headphones anyway. The headphone/headset could send data via a cable or via bluetooth.

With integrating the ac/dc adapter and the headphones/headset the cable won’t get bad anymore. Most headphones don’t work or work unproperly after the cable is stretched e.g. by accidently stepping on it.

Last but not least one could imagine a scanner in a laptop monitor. You could scan DinA4 pages easily and still would have control over your laptop and the scan results. The scanned data can be send as a fax, partially as a MMS, twitter or many other options are available. One project that is with the charching project (see above) is making internet available for everyone and everywhere.

That means that we can do everything with our Laptops: edit music, listen to music of any type, watch movies of any type and work with data of any type.

However Capsis would suggest to use high end hardware if you want to achieve good results, e.g. for business. Such hardware is usually cheaper for desktop computers.
